I just purchased a foreclosure with many smaller queen palms and sagos that are very yellow. I notice that some of the tress in my area are deep, healthy green, and others are yellow as well...I am on a slope and next to a golf course...any ideas as to what is the problem with my poor sick palm trees???

Yellowing foliage/fronds usually indicates water stress plus a need for fertilizer. A specialized Palm Tree Fertilizer will contain all the necessary nutrients (apply according to label directions). You may also want to apply some Ironite to the plants. The soils in the California desert can be quite alkaline and plants cannot green up without a little iron to help the fertilizer's nutrients become more readily available. I think you will see a big difference after feeding, watering and giving the palms some iron. Best wishes with your landscape!
