Most seeds are started 7-12 weeks before your anticipated planting outside date, which is typically 2 weeks after your last average frost date. The first week of April is your average last frost date so you can safely plant your seeds outdoors by the third week of April. If you want to start them indoors instead, start them now and plant them outdoors after they have developed 2 sets of leaves. Next year you can start your seeds indoors in February and have nice sized plants to set outdoors in late April or early May.
