I bought pansies in an 8" fiber pot for a whiskey barrel container. Should I plant the fiber pot intact or remove the individual plants separately?

Pansies are usually treated as annuals so they can be left in the fiber pot and you can plant the whole group in your whiskey barrel. Be sure to cover the lip of the pot with soil or it will wick the water up where it will evaporate in the fresh air and sunshine. If you had purchased perennials in fiber pots, you'd be better off to take them out of the pots and plant them directly into soil in your whiskey barrel so their roots would have a chance to grow deeply into the soil where they could become established.
