I have an old flower bed that I didn't put any fabric down but I do have perennials, bulbs, shrubs, black eyed susies and lilies in but I don't know what are weeds and what are actually plants. How do I get the landscaping cover down without killing my perennials? Thank you.

Wait until later this summer when all the plants are growing nicely, then pull out the obvious weeds and lay your landscape fabric over the bare soil between the plants. Or, dig everything out of the bed now, lay the landscape fabric over the entire bed and cut holes or X's in the weed barrier and replant your perennials. Either way, you'll get control of the weeds. Best wishes with your garden!
