what are some attractive, low maintenance plants that will thrive in my shady patio area. I would like suggestions for not only green plants, but flowers as well. Thanks

Here are some landscape plants that will do well in shade:

These are evergreens:
Fatsia (Fatsia japonica)
Ligustrum (Ligustrum spp.)
Mahonia (Mahonia spp.)
Nandina (Nandina domestica)
Pittosporum (Pittosporum tabira)
Azalea (Rhododendron spp.)
Algerian Ivy (Hederal conariensis)
English Ivy (Hedera helix)
Oakleaf hydranga (Hydranga quercifolia) deciduous

Some vines are:
Japanese Honeysuckle (Lonicera Japonica) evergreen, with flowers
Trumpet Honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens) evergreen, with flowers
Clematis (Clematis spp.) deciduous, with flowers
Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) deciduous

Perennials:
Daylily Hemaocallis spp.)
Golden shrimp plant (pachystachys lutea)
Jacobinia (Justicia carnea)
False dragon head (Physostegia virginiana)
