Is there any way to plant wildflowers but keep the weeds out? |
Any wildflower seed mix will contain a small percentage of weed seeds so planting a mix might not be the way to go. Establishing a weed free wildflower garden can be successfully accomplished by planting out individual plants so that the area can be weeded and cared for until the wildflowers are established and can manage on their own. Some plants well suited to your area would include the rudbeckias and coneflowers (echinacea), as well as goldenrod, asters, achillea and coreopsis. Best wishes with your wildflower garden. |
