| yes, i notice that when march got here a lot of my neighbors climbing roses blossom with many blooms. my roses seemed to struggle 1 2 3 here. buds are formed though. it's just fustrating to see my neighbors not do anything to their climbing roses and my knockout rose seem to takes it time. what am i doing wrong? |
| Knock Out roses do best in well amended soil but not so well in heavy clay soil. Could it be that your neighbors prepared the soil a little differently when they first planted their roses? That might account for the growth rate. Knock Out roses should be pruned back to about 12 inches in the spring and they will form a nice mound about 3' high. They need to be fed during the growing season (use a specially formulated rose food and apply in the amounts as recommended on the package) and they should be watered deeply once or twice a week during the growing season.
