|I have two potted (Bonsai) Japanese maples that the squirrles want to chew off the bark in the spring. I have covered the trunk, is there anything that I can use to spray on the tree which will not hurt the tree or animals but will discourage the chewing?

|Perhaps a better solution is to simply drape bird netting over your Japanese maples, anchoring it down on the ground or table with bricks or rocks or tucking the netting in under the container to keep those pesky squirrels away from them. Soon they will move on to better hunting grounds and you can remove the bird netting. Best wishes with your plants!
