Salt eating flowers - Knowledgebase Question

Years ago in Holland I passed an area that had been diked and dried that was full of little yellow flowers. My host explained that they dissolved salt. What are they and would they grow along New England salted roads?

The plant in question is probably Sea-oxeye Daisy (Borrichia frutescens) but I don't know that it is readily available here in the States. Might be worth some research, though.
