I am doing a cut out on the smaller side of my house and I'm looking for a shrub that will be about 5-7 feet or so. What is a hardy shrub and what will look good with boxwoods in front of it. I'm zone 5. |
The following shrubs grow about 6' at maturity: Berberis koreana (Korean Barberry Slide), Berberis x mentorensis (Mentor Barberry), Cephalanthus occidentalis (Buttonbush), Clethra alnifolia (Summersweet Clethra), Diervilla lonicera (Bush Honeysuckle), Ilex verticillata (Winterberry ? 'Red Sprite', 'Jim Dandy'), Kerria japonica (Japanese Kerria), Rosa rugosa (Rugosa Rose ? 'Blanc Double de Coubert'), Rosa rugosa (Rugosa Rose ? 'Frau Dagmar Hastrup'or 'Nearly Wild'), Syringa meyeri (Dwarf Korean Lilac 'Palibin'), Syringa patula (Manchurian Lilac 'Miss Kim'), or Viburnum x juddii (Judd Viburnum). Enjoy your new shrub! |
