|Centipede grass won't grow well in your area but Bermuda will. In fact, it's the warm season grass of choice for your region. You can overseed Bermuda with perennial rye so you will have a green lawn most of the year. When the weather is cool the rye will be green; when the weather gets warm and the rye goes dormant, the Bermuda will green up. It's a perfect combination of turfgrasses for your area.
