I reciently bought a pineapple plant at HD and have it outside on my front porch. The fruit on top is starting to fall to the side. Is it an ornament that is dying or am I not treating it right? I live in Southern California so it is hot but I water it daily and keep the soil moist.

If the fruit is turning from green to yellow, it might be ripe and ready to harvest. Daily watering might be excessive. The best way to know when your plant needs water is to stick your finger down into the soil. If it is moist one inch below the surface it won't need watering; if it is dry, it's time to water. I think the plant is showing some stress from overly moist soil. Hope it perks up soon!
