Sow bugs usually feed on decaying organic matter but if the population is high and there's competition for food, they can begin feeding on live plants. Instead of using insecticides, how about trapping the pests and removing them from the garden? You can do this easily by placing damp folded newspapers on the soil in the garden in the evening. The sow bugs will climb between the folds overnight and if you roll up the papers in the morning and toss them in the trash, you'll get rid of dozens and dozens of the pests. Do this every evening and morning and you will trap most if not all of the sow bugs. When you place papers out and find no more bugs lurking between the sheets or folds in the papers, you will know you've eliminated the pests. Good luck with your venture!
