|I bought a plant called plumaria and would like growing and care information.|
|Plumeria (Plumeria rubra), also known as frangipani and the Hawaiian Lei Flower, love warm growing conditions and a well drained soil or container media. The most common plumeria killer is overwatering. They also will not tolerate temperatures below 40 degrees Farenheit for very long. As winter approaches, cut back on watering and the plant will drop its leaves. Bring the container inside for winter storage in a spot where the temperature stays above 40 degrees.
Don't water in the winter. They'll be fine in the dry soil...they're sleeping! In spring, move them back outside and gradually begin to water them again. Feed plants weekly after setting outside with a dilute, balanced fertilizer solution. Stop feeding in early August, and begin the cycle again.
