Will Soft Water Affect My Garden? - Knowledgebase Question

We have a soft water conditioner throughout our house; it affects all the outdoor faucets except the one in front. Our garden is in the very back and we use the faucet out there. Will this soft water affect our garden? Should we try hooking up our hoses to the faucet in front?

Soft water can negatively affect many plants, especially in regions of low rainfall.. After repeated watering over time, sodium can build up to levels which cause plant leaf burn and even death. In clay soils, which are common around New Braunfels, the problem is especially pronounced.

I would first see about having a bypass line run to get you a faucet in the back. If not feasible, then I would run hoses from the front.
