Are Marigolds perennials in South Florida? Thanks |
Marigolds are considered annuals, even in your warm gardening region. The plants will bloom for a longer period of time if you regularly deadhead the spent blooms, but eventually the plants will die out and will need to be replaced. Marigolds can self-sow, especially if you pull or cut off the spent flowers and drop the seeds on the ground in the flower bed. This way assures you will have lots of marigolds in various states of maturity in your flower bed. Enjoy! |
