After the flowers are spent, cut off the flowering stem but allow the leaves to die down on their own - they are transporting energy back into the bulbs for next year's floral display. When the leaves ripen, pull them away and dig up the bulbs for storaage. Keep the bulbs in a cool, dry location until September. Then place them in your refrigerator until December (they need to experience a period of cold before they can finish their dormancy). In December plant them in your garden and they should sprout and flower right on time next spring. Enjoy!
