|I planted gladiolus bulbs indoors. Will they do okay?
|Normally gladiolus are planted outside in the spot where they are expected to grow for the season. They generally require full sun all day, very rich soil and plenty of moisture to grow and bloom well. They often need to be staked unless planted at least 8 inches deep. Given all of those factors, plus the fact that it takes about 80 days for them to bloom, I don't think of gladiolus as prime candidates for houseplants. If you could move them outdoors, either in very large pots or into the ground, I think they would do much better for you.
