Hydrangeas grow best in morning sun and shade from hot afternoon sunshine. Dig a hole as deep and slightly larger than the nursery container and rough up the sides and bottom of the hole. Then set your hydrangea into the hole, making sure it is resting at the same soil level as it was growing in the container. Backfill with the soil you took out of the hole, tamp it down gently, then water your new plant. Be sure to water deeply once each week during the growing season. Best wishes with your hydrangea!
