|I recently purchased a Pigmy Date Palm (plant code THDA2080). It state that it should be planted in an area that gets at least 6 hours of sun. I did. I planted it in a half wine barrel on my patio. It is showing signs of stress on the leaves that look like it is from too much sun. Help

|Sounds as though you've planted it just right. I expect that your new palm was grown under a shade cloth at the nursery so the foliage would remain a deep green, which would make it more attractive to customers. Now that you have repotted it and placed it in full sunshine, the foliage that developed under protected growing conditions are showing sunscald along with some stress from being transplanted. The good news is that when new fronds develop they will be better adapted to full sun exposure. And, when the roots establish themselves in their new home the entire plant will perk up. You can remove the old damaged fronds as soon as new ones develop and the plant will look perfect. Best wishes with your landscape.
