Trimming Asparagus - Knowledgebase Question

The asparagus bed has finished producing for the year and is grown up in ferny fronds. When can I trim off these fronds?

Those fronds should be left on the plant. They are its branches and leaves which produce the carbohydrates which support the crown and roots, building a stronger plant for next year. Wait until winter to remove the fronds.

Asparagus really wants to be further north so we have to do all we can to make it happy here in Texas!
