Salix chaenomeloides, the giant pussywillow, grows 20' high and 15' wide. While you can prune them back after the catkins appear in the spring, you should only cut back about a third of the plant. Pruning back more might compromise its health. So if you have a small space you may want to rethink planting giant pussywillows there.
