I have noticed that the tips of my roses and my cardina shrubs all have burnt tips on the flowers even before they bloom and after. I live in sun city ca. so the temp. can reach the 100's at times. But the season is very mild right now. Can this be due to lack of water? They get water every other day by dribbers for 3 min. each period. I really love having flowers in springtime so please help!

Sounds like a fungal leaf spot on your gardenias and your roses. You can control with a fungicide or you can wait until hot weather arrives which will stop the fungus in its tracks. Be sure to remove and destroy any infected flowers.
