|we planted our new dogwood in the last of Feburday and in March it stated to let it's leaves then we had a couple of days of very windy weather and cold. The begin of April the leave turn brown and curl up the bark of the tree has some gray to off white on the brak. Is the tress dying? We have been watering every night. Can you help us?
|Newly plants trees and shrubs naturally go through an adjustment period, which can include dying foliage. As soon as the roots establish themselves, your dogwood should recover. The weather added insult to injury, but we can't help the weather! I think you are overwatering. When soil remains soggy it can suffocate roots. So don't water every night. Instead, water deeply once each week to encourage deep roots and to allow the soil to dry out a bit between waterings. Good luck with your new tree.|
