Looking at buying variegata pittosporum. One has label winter pride other one labeled. mock orange. They were grouped together, so I was wondering are they basically to something or what is the difference. |
The only real difference is the mature size and cold hardiness: Pittosporum tob. Variegata Winter Pride grows 8' H x 8' W and is a handsome evergreen shrub with green leaves edged with white. Fragrant white flowers in spring. Great plant for foundation plantings or as hedges. Can be grown in full sun or shade. Cold hardy to zone 7. Pittosporum tobira (mock orange) grows 10 Feet H x 6 Feet W and has creamy-white flowers with an orange scent in spring. Winter damage may occur without protection (hardy to zone 8). Sun or shade. |
