Xeriscaping as you probably already know, is a system, not a style. Xeriscaping relies on fixing poor soils, grouping together plants with similar needs, mulch, and efficient irrigation systems. Probably the biggest factor is choosing plants with low water needs. To find plants that are good candidates for a xeriscape, look for the following: succulent leaves, large roots, small leaves, silver/gray fuzzy leaves.
