Live on the beach in texas,just planted and leaves are turning brown.put down some palm fertilizer and have been watering every day since it has been so windy here. am i doing something wrong and or do i need to do something extra

I think our natural reaction when palm fronds turn brown is to give it more water but this is not always the best thing to do. Palms can suffer some transplant stress and the wind can dessicate the fronds so what you are seeing is probably just a combination of wind damage and root stress. Water your palm deeply once or twice a week (not daily) and give it some time to re-establish its roots. It will adjust to its new growing spot and eventually develop healthy new fronds. When that happens you can safely remove the dead and damaged fronds.
