I planted a Japanese Maple 2 weeks ago and some leaves are showing spots. Please advise. Joan Loria |
Japanese maple trees are sensitive to hot afternoon sunshine so if your tree is experiencing afternoon sun, the leaves can show sunscald spots. Other common causes of spotting are insect feeding (check on the undersides of the leaves) or water drops remaining on the surface of the leaves and then being hit by sunshine. It can bleach or even burn the tissues on the leaves. Hope this helps you determine the cause of the leaf spots. |
