|I have found grubs in a flower bed(flowers nipped off) and the soil for about 50' x 15' around the area is totally dead, when scrapped away all is dead and it is bare soil. Could this also be grubs. We are in the country and it would be impossible to spray 5 acres for grubs. How about just doing the flower beds.

|Grubs can be treated with beneficial nematodes or with chemical controls. Japanese beetle grubs can also be treated with milky spore disease. In some cases a grub population is not really high enough to need control. You might want to consult with your county extension to help indentify the specific grubs you have and for specific recommendations on how to control them.
