I recently purchased a pink climbing rose from a local greenhouse. I live in USDA Zone 3, and previous to this I have not been able to find a rose hardy for our area. This rose boasts -35 degree hardiness. Should I believe that this rose will flourish?

It is possible. There are rugosa roses growing in Siberia where temperatures fall to -50F! If it is a rugosa cultivar then it is possible it will survive. The rugosa roses are the most cold tolerant group of roses. Most of the cultivars are hardy to zone 4 and a number of them into zone 3.
