I have something munching on my broccoli plants.I can't find any cabbage worms, but maybe I am not looking hard enough. Could it be a rodent?

The little green worms that much on cole crops are really hard to detect because they are nearly the same color as the leaves they are feasting upon. Look for frass (caterpillar poop) on the tops of the lower leaves and on the top of the soil. These will be dark colored pellets. If you find none, the damage could very well be from rodents. You can try caging your plants with cylinders made of hardware cloth to see if that helps stop the munching. Place the cylinders over the plants at night (when rodents are most likely to feed) and remove them during the day. Good luck with your broccoli!
