What is a "Goblin Plant" - a perennial that is popular in Tennessee?

Gaillardia, the Blanket Flower, is often called the 'Goblin' plant. It's a perennial that grows in full sunshine and hase 3-4 inch flower heads that bloom from June until frost. Gaillardia is a member of the Asteracea family and has ray-type flowers.
