|The general rule of thumb is to remove no more than one third of the live material in any one pruning session. If you need to prune more than that, plan on doing it over a 2-3 year period. You can feed with Hollytone or a 10-10-10 in amounts as listed on the package (which varies according to size of plant). Water deeply once each week during the growing season. A soaker hose or a drip system will concentrate the moisture over the root system, which will extend out just past the longest branches. Best wishes with your new camp!
