I recently planted green bell peppers in a raised garden. The plant is growing great and has many peppers on it. They have suddenly begun developing brown papery-looking spots. They are not rot spots. Can you tell me what these spots are, why they are appearing, and what to do. Thank you! |
If the spots are dry and papery, they are indications of sunscald. The afternoon sunshine is just too intense for the thin skins of your peppers. Try to provide some shelter during the afternoons. A shade cloth will help diffuse the sun's rays. |
