Pill Bugs - Knowledgebase Question

I have a compost station and there is many pill bugs within the compost. Is this harmful or is it a normal occurance for composting in S.E. Texas?

It's normal and it's a good sign! Pillbugs, or sowbugs, are one of those beneficial soil dwelling critters that consumes decaying organic debris. They help break down dead plant matter, so killing them isn't recommended. Leave them alone in the compost - where they can do the most good.
