I've been told that using Osmocote on impatiens will encourage leaf growth rather than flower production. What can I use to nourish my impatiens throughout the summer? They are in containers with other annuals.

Too much nitrogen can stop or slow flower production on annuals so if you feed, use a low nitrogen product such as a 5-10-10. With that said, impatiens are prolific bloomers in their own right, but you can pinch them down periodically to encourage branching and even more flowers. Aside from the above, impatiens are easy to grow. Enjoy!
