what ground over r eannual flowers will grow under orange trees?everything I have planted even grass has died.

As you've discovered, it is hard to get plants to grow under evergreen trees. This is because the soil beneath them is dry and usually shady. You can try a groundcover such as ajuga, vinca or even dichondra. Or look in your garden center for other shade tolerant, dry soil tolerant plants. Good luck with your garden.
