My hanging plants as well as others that sit on a counter seem all to have little ants in them. (these are all in the house) why?? and how can I get rid of them?

The ants like the moist soil and they are probably looking for organic debris, other insects, or even nectar from the flowers. The first step in controlling them is to find out where they are coming from. If they are marching in from outdoors, you can place baits out near where they travel. If they are indoors and nesting inside, you'll need to use a household-safe product or have a professional it to eradicate them. Don't spray ant killer on your plants or on the soil - it will kill the plants. Another option is to take the plants outdoors and repot them in fresh potting soil (just in case there are any ant eggs in the soil). Hope this helps!
