Your new hydrangea is hardy to zone 5, your gardening zone so you can plant it outdoors. I would simply enjoy it while it is flowering. When the flowers are spent cut them off the plant and set the plant outdoors in a shady site. Let it get used to being outdoors for a week or two and then plant it in the garden. Hydrangeas prefer to grow in morning sun and afternoon shade. Once you find the perfect spot, plant your hydrangea. enjoy!
