flowering plum tree Just bought for color and medium size tree Has much new growth that is 3 feet longer single branches than rest. Do I Trim, let grow all year? How do you trim for more limbs to make fuller tree |
I wouldn't prune the tree until it becomes established in your landscape. Next spring, after it has finished flowering, you can prune any overly long branches to make it look a little neater. When you prune you encourage one or two new stems and if you prune on an annual basis you'll force a full canopy of branches and leaves. Best wishes with your new tree. |
