I wouldn't prune the tree until it becomes established in your landscape. Next spring, after it has finished flowering, you can prune any overly long branches to make it look a little neater. When you prune you encourage one or two new stems and if you prune on an annual basis you'll force a full canopy of branches and leaves. Best wishes with your new tree.
