Prune colonnade apple trees by removing dead branches, as well as every third branch and a random few top branches. Trim apple the branches at an angle. Just prune enough to make the trees look attractive but don't remove more than about one third of the branches in any one pruning session. Best wishes with your colonnade apple trees.
