My husband bought me an Orange Star plant for mother's day. I need to know when I should repot it as well as general care and what kind of plant food I should get for it.

Guzmania lingulata is the houseplant called Orange Star. It does best in bright indirect sunlight, near an east or west window and it appreciates high humidity. If you repot, use a rich potting soil or one made for African Violets. Keep the soil evenly moist at all times and feed every 3-4 weeks with a half strength dilution of water soluable fertilizer (such as Miracle Gro). Enjoy your new plant!
