I have small (1/16 - 1/8") beetle-like bugs with long snouts on my hollyhocks. Is there a natural pest control solution? If not, which pesticide should I use? |
Based on your description it does sound like it is possibly some sort of curculio or wevil that has attacked your hollyhocks, but it is impossible to give you an exact identification. Hollyhocks are inevitably subject to all kinds of leaf problems, so a certain amount of damage is tolerable. You might try handpicking if they are causing noticeable disfigurement. For a positive identification of the insect and recommendations as to chemical control, if any, you might wish to take a sample to your local County Extension office. |
