|I asked the guy who helps me with yard work to plant calla lilly bulbs in some large pots about six weeks ago. So far I haven't seen any signs they are growing. The big pots look pretty bad since they are totally bare and all the other containers (dozens) on my deck are filled with beautful flowers. Is it too early to assume they were a failure or should I wait longer before replacing them?

|I would dig one pot up to check the status of the calla lilies. They like warm weather but being in containers should certainly provide them with that! Dig them up to see if they still look healthy and are at least putting out some roots. If not, I'd replace them. If they are developing roots, just replant them and wait a few more weeks. Best wishes with your calla lilies!
