Fountain Valley, Ca
|I have 14 Carrotwood trees with many surface roots. I plan to dig around the trunk of each and remove those roots. What is the best way to do this?

|If you intend to remove the trees completely, take the tree down first and then dig up the roots. If you want to keep the trees, you really cannot remove the roots without compromising the health of your trees. Some trees just naturally produce aboveground roots. There's nothing you can do to stop this natural growth habit. I think they add character to the trees.
