I have 7ft fig tree I wat to cut off some branches Can I do it now when it is just getting buds?

Spring is an excellent time to prune and as long as your tree does not flower, you can prune it now. If it does flower, and if you prune it now, you'll obviously lose the flowers for this season. Good luck with your landscape!
