|I have a young garden with plants that flower all summer into fall. Do you think fish emulsion works as well as Miracle Grow to keep them blooming?|
|Numberwise, fish emulsion is generally a 4-1-1-5 (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur) and trace elements. You mix 1 Tablespoon of Emulsion per gallon of water. It can be applied as a foliar feed followed by a good watering of the soil to give root growth a chance. It is especially useful for giving plants a good early start when the season is still cold.
Miracle Gro is usually a 20-20-20 so you'll get more fertilizer per application.
Phosphorous (the middle number) boosts blooming so you might want to use a fertilizer with a higher middle number to promote flowering. 10-20-10 is an example. Hope this clarifies things for you.
