|You can level low spots in your lawn with applications of topsoil. If you add only a half inch at a time the grass will grow up through the top soil. Repeat as necessary to completely level the lawn. Or, if the area is quite large, you can spread as much topsoil as necessary and then roll it to help compact the soil slightly (you can rent a lawn roller and fill it halfway with water). Then you can overseed. I use a 2 x 4 to check the level of the top soil. Just lay it down and with a helper, scrape it over the top of the topsoil after rolling. It will give you a good idea if there are still low spots in the lawn. Hope this helps!
