|I can't diagnose the problem without seeing it so you may want to take samples of the affected foliage to your cooperative extension office for positive identification of the problem. The tan color is probably sunscald and as the fronds age and drop the problem will be gone. New fronds will be more able to tolerate the sunshine your palm is now receiving. The rust spots might indicate a fungal infection but might also just be the result of some insect feeding or other damage to the fronds. Newly planted trees and shrubs can take several months to adjust to their new homes and can exhibit stress until the roots become established so the problems you describe might simply be symptoms of stress. Good luck with your Christmas palm!
