|Empty bean pods usually indicate lack of pollination but they may be due to extreme weather. It takes a while for the pods to fill out so you may be harvesting too early. Organic pest controls are usually insect specific so try to identify the pests and watch them in action. They may not be harmful to your plants. In fact, they may be feeding on more destructive pests in your garden. Good luck with your green beans.
